Weekly Update (December 20th – December 26th)

Last week we received word that the Planning Commission gave its approval to allow the sale of a former water department pumping station located at the base of Race Street along the Delaware River.  Philadelphia Live Arts Festival & Philly Fringe proposes turning the building into a waterfront arts center.   The arts organization plans to house a black box theater, two rehearsal studios, offices, and a bar and restaurant.

Here at CDAG we are excited about this potential use. It is consistent with the vision for the waterfront and we feel that this could be a great addition to the arts community as well as a great attraction for the riverfront.
